Vintage French Quimper Faience Covered Dish
Originally used as a butter keeper, this ornately painted example can now serve as your jam, honey or “caviar keeper”!
Wonderful primary colors used in the Décor Riche painting of a Breton woman in a field surrounded by desirable deep blue scroll-work. Additional details of local flowers from Brittany, France adorn the top and sides. The bottom scalloped plate is permanently attached, so no worries for sliding! The looped handle makes handling the lid much easier. We find that vintage French Quimper Faience tends to be highly collectible because of its charm and naïve, yet bold beauty.
